Are they any African American ladies out there that have had a 'quick weave'?

How does it work? I'm going on a mini-vacation and I want to do something different with my hair. Is a quick weave a good way to go?

Are they any African American ladies out there that have had a 'quick weave'?

I wear them all the time. They are so easy and look amazing! I have about 7 or 8, I'm not sure. I love them because you can change up your style so quickly! I bought some straight, some curly, some with highlights, you name it!! And your real hair won't get damaged underneath, always a plus (which is why I don't wear braids or weaves).

I put a link below to the place where I buy mine. They aren't that expensive, so go nuts girl!!

Are they any African American ladies out there that have had a 'quick weave'?

WAHST QUICK WEAVE YO

IS IT MEANING FOR BLOQWING 1UICK IN SEX U GET ME GFOOLG

Are they any African American ladies out there that have had a 'quick weave'?

I haven't had one but I watch people get quick weaves while I'm at the shop. They wrap your hair and put some kind of cap on and start putting the weave on there one row at a time. Then when they are done putting the weave on they cut it so it's even, then they curl it in a style. It looks cute. I don't think you will regret it.

Are they any African American ladies out there that have had a 'quick weave'?

yeah, i think you should do it. fake hair is always easier to maintain as a oppose to real hair. i mean really, do want to be on your vaca worrying about or trying to do some her style with your hair when you could just get a weave.

How do I spike my hair?

I have been dying to liberty spike my hair but I have african american hair so what gel would do the job? Should I straighten it first and should it be the max like a nine on the scale of one to ten for hold? thanx

How do I spike my hair?

My brother always spiked his hair growing up and the best thing that we found to make it stand so well is egg whites. Take the egg whites from the egg and use it as a gel it works every time and it washes out.

How do I spike my hair?

Buy hair glue... it's in a yellow tube on the top shelf at WalMart. It's called Got 2 B glued.

How do I spike my hair?

my advice to u is don't wash your hair, straighten your hair, then tease your hair with a comb. then apply styling gel and bring your hair up with your fingers.

How do I spike my hair?

use Gorilla Glue it works the best.............................

Kinda hard to wash out though

How do I spike my hair?

old school punks and rudeboys used straight up glue. works like a charm.

How do I spike my hair?

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

My daughter has naturally curly african american hair, I am trying to reduce the amount of shrinkage. Her hair is to the middle of her back, but shrinks to about 1 inch long.

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

Braiding the hair in semi-large sections while wet and with conditioner should do the trick.. Or you can double strand twist it in thick chunks while wet so it can dry stretched out and shrink less...

As a mom I give you props for allowing your daughter to embrace her natural hair texture without chemical alteration.

Check out the site http://www.nappturality.com and visit the forums.

also there is lots of good info at http://www.motowngirl.com

Peace

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

Try a cream that you put in your hair after you get out of the shower that minimizes body or volume. Preferably L'oreal.

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

If your hair is naturally curly, not a lot you can do but use shampoo products to smooth your hair. A good smoothing leave-on smoothing creme and style as usual. And don't try to kill your curls, they are back in style!

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

hmmm

How do I prevent curly hair from shrinking as it dries?

you don't all hair shrinks when it drys. sorry. try a heavy weight frizz controlling serum though

TRY A MILD RELAXER

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

I am 19 with natural kinky african american hair. I've never relaxed or permed it, and right now I just wear it in a ponytail. Whenever I wanted to straighten it, I use a flat iron. Now, I'm thinking it will be easier to relax it. I've tried braids, but they make my hair fall out. Are there any other options I haven't thought of?

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

just remember if u do deciede to chemically straighten your hair , than u will have to keep up with it , that means u will have to probably relax it every 2 months or so...your best bet is to start going to salons interviewing the stylist or when u see a person on the street with a hair style u like ask them where they got it done...what products they use etc.. that is what i do... if u are in ny, i can recommend a few places...

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

Read some tips and articles on hair straightening on this site

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

There are people that can blow dry your hair really straight. I never had it done before but I heard about it from people who have. Just ask around about it.

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

It depends, are you wanting a new look, or you tired of flat ironing your hair? I'm in the process of letting the perm grow out of my hair so I can have a pretty afro! Sometimes perms aren't the best thing some peeps hair fall out or the chemicals may be too strong!

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

I know that being a Caucasian female that straightening my hair chemically is very harsh and if I am not mistaken your hair tends to break off easier. If I were you I don't think I would take that chance of having all that break damage done to your hair. I would consult a hair dresser on what is more gentler on the hair, a perm or chemically straightening it.

Should I chemically straighten my hair?

afro hair is quite thick i think so chemical straightening would be a good idea as it would thin it much

Shampoo and conditioner for african american women??

I alternate going to a salon every other week. This is the week that i will be doing my hair at home.(i plan on doing a doobie wrap) But i've noticed that every time i wash and condition my hair at home that it looks kinda dull. I am going to sally's tomorrow..can anyone recommend something?

I also heard mineral oil in hair is bad. is that true?

Shampoo and conditioner for african american women??

Creme of Nature or Mane 'n Tail. Both products worked really well for me. Never had dull lifeless hair.

Shampoo and conditioner for african american women??

if you cut your hair short you wont have this problem

if not, let the conditioner be on for a longer time

Shampoo and conditioner for african american women??

Firstly, I realize that I look white, white, white, but my daddy is African American and I have naturally kinky hair. Mineral oil isn't as bad for your hair as it is for your your hair follicles. It clogs them. I use Pantene Relaxed and Natural and my hair is soft and shiny. If you are going to Sally's you should also grab a big tub of Cholesterol. It is a thick, yellow conditioner that is absolutely fabulous that you could your once a week. Good luck!

Best reasonably priced place in newyork for thermal reconditioning, rebonding, japanese hair straigh

Does anyone know of a place where i can get japanese hair straightening ( rebonding, thermal reconditioning) in ny NEWYORK? In or close to Longisland would be great..A friend told me someone at her office got it done from somewhere in Queens and was charged 150 $ only for amazing japanese straightening on her very long thick curly african american hair.. but she could not find out the name of the place..Does anyone know of a good place which charges about or less than 200 $ ?... or just any place which will give excellent results?

I have long very curly fine hair.. very dark brown with caramel highlights.. the condition of my hair isnt great so straightening with a blowdryer and iron damages it a lot plus takes up a lot of time.. i want super straight hair which can be dried naturally and will be low maintenance yet classy looking for office and job interviews etc.. THANKS!!

Best reasonably priced place in newyork for thermal reconditioning, rebonding, japanese hair straightening?

I have read that the japanese straightening is not recommended for african american or similar types of hair including hispanics. I wouldn't do it to my hair and I definately wouldn't pay $150 to have it done when the average price is between $600-800. Do some more research on the disadvantages of the straightening and what hair types it is best and not best for. I thought about it myself before but, not good for my/our hair!

You could also try the maxiglide straightener!

Best reasonably priced place in newyork for thermal reconditioning, rebonding, japanese hair straightening?

A beauty school will do the work for a fraction of the price of a regular salon. I found a site with a list of beauty schools in NY (link below).

African American Braid Hairstyle???

i've seen this hairstyle. it's like cornrows of tiny braids that go into big braids and then it goes into a bun. i have no idea what they're called. i want to get my hair like that though, so i need a picture or something. could someone tell me the name of these braids or give me the link to a picture of them!? :-)

thnks

African American Braid Hairstyle???

invisible cornrows (cornrows using the feeding method) %26amp; then you just put the ends in a bun

Look for african-american hairstyles that are good for working out??

I am recently begin working out, and I need to get something done to my hair. Just to get my own hair shampooed and styled will fall so easily while working out. I am trying to find a style that will withhold the workout and sweat. I am starting to feel like braiding in my only option.

Look for african-american hairstyles that are good for working out??

yes braiding is just about your only option but you can get it braided in a cute poiny tail hair style or you can get a pony tail that you wrap with tracs ang get your hair geld up and sprized down real good and that should help

Look for african-american hairstyles that are good for working out??

braiding is ur only option.......there isn't a style that i can think of that will hold up while ur working out. they are some cute styles out now that u can have done with ur braids for eg the afro kinky twist which once it is plait u can have it put up in a nice style

Look for african-american hairstyles that are good for working out??

You didn't mention the length of your hair, but if its in a wrap style or able to be wrapped, I wrap my hair before the work out and keep it wrapped w/the scarf on if possible and it works out fine.

How do you braid hair back in corn-rows?

My travel basketball season is just starting and I'm sick of putting my hair back in a ponytail. My cousin knows how to braid, but she's older and just got a job so shes always busy. I have thick, shoulder lenght african-american hair (if that helps).

How do you braid hair back in corn-rows?

Begin by making a part in the hair that neatly extends from the forehead to the nape of the neck. The part will have to be made somewhat at an angle because the area covered by your forehead is greater than that of your neck. If you can imagine, the cornrows will take on somewhat of a tapered look in the back if the parts are done evenly and correctly.

After parting the section to be cornrowed, secure the rest of the hair with a clip. Comb out the section to remove tangles. Beginning at the forehead, take a small portion of the section and divide it into two separate strands. Cross them.

For your third strand pick up some of the hair from the larger section and cross it over one of the other two strands. You now have the three strands necessary to cornrow.

The procedure is similar to braiding except you will be working your way down the section by continually adding hair from the larger section to each of your three strands.

Once you have reached the nape of the neck, braid the rest of the hair to the ends and secure with a rubber band. Part the next section and cornrow it.

How do you braid hair back in corn-rows?

my friends do each others hair.

but sometimes they get it done and it last all summer, They are much cooler, they have done mine but it is soft and straight

How do you braid hair back in corn-rows?

I think, for it to look right, you need to have someone else do your hair. Cornrows can be very time consuming to do but they look neat.

African American Hairstyle Question?

I have a medium sized afro, (I'm half black and white) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what type of hairstyle I should get? This is my first time growing my hair, and though I like the afro style, I want to try something more professional looking. And another question I have, what is John Legend's hairstyle called?

African American Hairstyle Question?

If you want to keep your afro, you must cut it low and have it shaped and lined. The look is the same look that Ludacris had when he first took his braids out. To have a real professional look you need to keep it very low. John Legend's hair style that he wears sometimes is called twisties. His hair is always neat. I think he is a excellant person to pattern your hairstyle after.

African American Hairstyle Question?

my hair is l long all the way to my butt and it all the way African American hair and hairstyle

African American Hairstyle Question?

I am not African American, but a nice hairdo might be small dreadlocks (not thick!) and put it back into a pony tail. I have seen this before and I really like it. ITs something new and different to try, why not? But please dont do big dread locks, because i think they are kind of disgusting. HOpe this helps!

African American Hairstyle Question?

Get it twisted by a professional stylist. John Legend has like a low afro. But sometimes he twist it then he may comb it out.

African American Hairstyle Question?

john legend hair is short dreads

African American Hairstyle Question?

John Legend had little dreads or twists. But since you wanted a more "professional" look i think you should get a low cut or waves. You could also get your hair braided (cornwrows) if you'd like.

How To Get Healthy Hair??

I have damaged my hair really bad!!

I Have african American Hair that can't be washed every other day......and I have a perm

How To Get Healthy Hair??

I'm an Afro American woman with a perm too %26amp; your right, don't wash it every other day. But, make sure your hair is clean %26amp; use a leave in conditioner that will restore moisture to the hair. Also, talk to your beautiican ablout other things you could do to restore your hair's health . Another thing you could do while your there is ask her to give you a wrap. There easy to take care of %26amp; after she takes it out of the wrap %26amp; stlyes it. You go home that night wrap it in the same direction she did and tie a scarf around it. When you wake up in the morning comb it outta the wrap %26amp; go. Plus, with a wrap you don't use heat. Heat, burns the hair which will damage it further.

Keep, it olied %26amp; get your ends cut every six week to get rid of split ends. Also, you could take a vitamin with zinc in it or buy zinc at your nearest health food store. Take it while doing this and you'll see results. Also, inbetween oiling I use Organic Root Stimulater's Carrot Oil. It prevents shedding and breakage and you'll see results in 5 days ! It works I use it on the regular as part of my hair care regemend. My hair is longer then it was before but I haven't reached my desired length yet. Its a slow process but you'll get great results.

How To Get Healthy Hair??

hmm i would get tresemme shampoo for dry or damaged hair (or something like that). also eat a healthy diet w/ grains fruits veggies and protien.

How To Get Healthy Hair??

If your hair isn't already naturally strong %26amp; you want really healthy, shiny hair then you shouldn't damage it with anything artificial (perm, straightening, hair dye) because that just creates ugly unnatural hair.

Try to get a trim to cut off those split ends, then get some vitamins for your hair (do some research), eat a balanced diet, and finally, use shampoo %26amp; conditioner that works to make your hair stronger rather in addition to cleaning it (i think pantene is the best for your hair.)

How To Get Healthy Hair??

Girl Try some carrot oil or tea tree oil..Just put it in your hair after each time you wash it..You can get it from the hair store or any vitamin store..It worked for my hair. The oil has so many nutrients in it for your hair to be healthy too!!

How To Get Healthy Hair??

try redken's extreme shampoo and conditioner...its a miracle...it helps damaged hair.

How To Get Healthy Hair??

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Be what you'r . I guess the problem is not exepting your self .

African american and i cant get waves. why?

if your afercain amercain y do use a white avater ????

African american and i cant get waves. why?

If you straighten your hair chemically you would be able to create waves again. Or you could try to little braids leave em over night and in the morning brush them out and use a little coconut pomade..using a flat brush.

African american and i cant get waves. why?

i dont know

African american and i cant get waves. why?

I have a son and I was telling my brother that I wanted to start waving my son's hair. I like you was in a dilema. This is what he told me: wash his hair at night, put the sportin waves on his head, brush thoroughly, put a hot towel on his head and brush some more, then put the do rag on. Do this at night not in the morning. He has waves and says that even when the barber cuts his hair the waves stay in now. Of course it could be the texture of his hair, but my son is starting to get waves. I'm so excited. Good Luck!

African american and i cant get waves. why?

Go see a hair stylist - I prefer eqyptian-owned salons.

African american and i cant get waves. why?

get it relazed and then roller set it with large rollers to get waves in your hair

African american and i cant get waves. why?

I think you should wash it, grease it lightly, then tie the doo rag on it while it's still wet. Go to bed and in the morning waves.

African american females?

what hair products and straighteners do you use? thanks a bunch :D

African american females?

i use oil sheen cuz its not greasy like most african americans and flat irons but it basically depends on your hair type!!

African american females?

I use beauty 4 ashes godhead silky smooth shampoo and conditioner and conair straightener.

African american females?

oil sheen,liv,ordark and lovely

African american females?

i use tresemme shampoos and conditirer and i use tresemme heat tamer to help straighten it form my flat iron and i use ganier's glossing spray to shine it up this also helps with heat and i use ganier's hairsparys

African american females?

i use mostly shea butter %26amp; coconut oil, i don't straighten my hair that much but when i do in the summer time i use isoplus pressing oil, in the winter i use shea butter oil

African american females?

I like using oil sheen , dark and lovely, african pride products and Dr. miracles products

African american females?

Motions is a good brand also TCB is sort of oily and makes my dryish hair very silky.

African american females?

I use Biosilk , Doogro Products, and Motions

African american females?

I use Cream of Nature Products, Garnier Sleek %26amp; Shine and Pantene Relaxed %26amp; Natural. I also love Mixed Chicks Products, Be Curly by Aveda and Shea Butter whenever I wear my hair natural.

To straighten my Tresses, I just make sure I wash and condition my hair with a straightening enhancer shampoo and conditioner like Garnier Sleek %26amp; Shine. Then blow dry and flat iron my hair. I also use this product called "Luster Silk". Its a product that helps to straighten your hair. Not at all like a relaxer but it helps with the straightening process. It makes your hair soft and silky and it washes right out when you wash your hair. Just spray it in and blow dry your hair. Once the hair is dry either press it out or flat iron it and your hair will be straight, soft and silky. You can purchase Luster Silk at any beauty supply or on-line.

Hope this helps!

African american females?

To wash my hair I use either Cream of Nature products or Aphgee products, they work great. To straighten my hair I use a Cream of Nature perm ( don't use Motions its too strong). For flat- ironing I use a CHI flatiron, and BIOSILK products. Make sure you keep your hair moisterized at all times.

African american females?

shea butter and coconut oil. i don't usually straighten my hair.

organix has 2 great lines Coconut Milk nourishing and Shea Butter Smoothing you can buy them at Target for about $7

African American Women only?

i wear a full head weave and it's the curly hair so there's no maintenance at all...i get compliments all the time, and it's not fake looking so most people think it's my real hair

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

I'm worried about the damage the chlorine water may do to my hair. Is it just a bad idea? Does anyone have advice about how to prevent hair-breakage/weakening? Thanks for your help:).

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

Well, I'm half AA and I used to be on a swim team. Really, unless your hair is permed or fine you won't have to worry about breakage. I have natural curls, so I've never had to deal with the chlorine breaking my hair because it's pretty strong.

Now, if you hair is permed, I would definitely suggest you buy a latex cap and wear a scarf around your hair in the water. I saw one of my swim mates do this. She has permed hair. First she'd tie a bandana around her hair tightly, then she'd put on her swim cap and made sure to press out any air. When she got of the water, her hair was still wet (you can't avoid this), but not as much as mine (I just wore a cap, no bandana).

I also suggest that you buy special shampoos and conditioners for swimmers. Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3 is specifically made for a swimmer's hair and follow up with his Conditioner 3 which will leave your hair soft and silky. It's formulated to cleanse the hair of the minerals it takes on in the water and protect the strands from breakage.

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

get one of those water caps they use in the olympics.

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

Wear a swim cap if you're worried. Or just make sure to condition after swimming.

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

Swimmer's hair seems almost always to be damaged. Just something you'll have to accept if you want to swim.

What does it have to do with being African American?

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

Shave your head

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

wear a swimming cap they are around 5 bucks and can protect your hair..... or just buy swimming shampoo it rebuilds what the chlorine does to your hair

I'm African-American and I want to start swimming regularly, but...?

oh... I didnt know that but just if you take a shower after training you will no have any problems.

Stop calling yourself "african-american" You were born here in the US and you are just "black" or "black american". Do we call "white" people " UK americans: ???

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products

I was just wondering because African American hair is more sensitive than other races. I have long hair and was wondering if it would b good 2 do for my hair. Also washing hair everyday could damage our hair so could certain hair products. Lemme know Thanks!

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products.?

Because of the length of your hair...it's a bad idea...unless you want major breakage. In all honesty all regular hair gels that black girls use are bad for you hair....that's why some folks are switching over to pomades and creams that hold...check out Garnier line of putty and cream gel..it works for some folks and for some it doesnt....now as for the scrunching...if you want that effect..something that would last you know...for a week or so at a time.....try something else..like wearing a braid out or a twist out. Those styles look just as nice..and last a minute...without doing damage. Using a crimping iron or curling iron is cool too but you'd have to get something to keep the curl pattern (spritz hairspray) which some of those are damaging too...check out the websites below for instructions on that...and washing your hair everyday is unneccessary and drying due to sulfates in the shampoo and particles in water....once a week..with conditioning and deep conditioning every other week is best..and maybe a clarifying shampoo wash once a month....

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products.?

I think it would be okay. If you don't want to use any fancy products you could just use gel. This works nicely and I don't think it would do any damage to your hair.

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products.?

hell naw it can even be bad for white peoples hair, they use that hard as.s gel, and they have to wash it out, if i washed my hair everyday i would have no hair, my hair is getting long ive been working at it, and doing that wont help it. gel wont help our hair at all

if u get relaxers you could try it i guess, but i flat iron my hair so it wouldnt work. also if you wanna wear your hair wavy why not buy a crimper/waver. i must admit though when white girls scrunch their hair it looks cute

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products.?

Just like how african americans' skin colors vary so does the textures of our hair. While some african americans can use gels, mousses, spritz, and hair sprays and have no problem, others cannot because those products contain water based solutions.

If your hair can stand the process of being "scrunched" without becoming dry or breaking, then knock yourself out. It's you hair do what you please.

Is it good for a black girl 2 scrunch they're hair? Black is known 2 b sensitive 2 sum products.?

tina is right hard gel ruins anyone hair. i known people who scrunch their hair now they ended up with damaged hair

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

I have African-American hair. I have tried oiling my scalp, washing only once a week, olive oil, you name it, and nothing is working. Any ideas?

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

Biotin works wonders. I've taken it for about a month now and it's helped with the condition of my hair, skin, and nails. As for some general hair care tips to make sure it doesn't break:

Cut your split ends--it's going to be bad to part with that hair but if you don't cut it the hair will keep splitting up the shaft. That's a majority of the reason that hair doesn't seem to grow fast. Once the damage is done there is no miracle cream that's going to repair them. I have to part with 6 inches of hair every year in the summertime whenever the pool and sun fries the ends. It's a hard thing to do but hair grows back, and if you're taking care of it it will grow back healthier. Avoid permanent hair color--if you want to color your hair use semi permanent because it washes out in 30 days without any damage. And you have to color your hair every month anyway because of the roots--so you're not losing anything by going safe.

Brush your hair with a natural bristle brush before washing your hair. It helps spread some natural oils that would otherwise be washed completely from your hair. Invest in good shampoo and conditioner--I love Bedhead's Moisture Maniac. Store bought shampoos are as strong as laundry detergent--and you wouldn't wash your hair with laundry detergent. Try deep conditioning your hair 1-2 times a week. I love Bedhead's Dumb Blonde because it's very creamy and takes about 10 minutes instead of the regular 30 minutes.

Wash your hair less frequently--if you wash it every day, start washing it every other day. Use a dime-to-quarter sized drop on your roots ONLY. Rub it into your scalp with the pads of your fingers, rinse, and wash once more. When using conditioner work it from ends to roots. Leave it on there for 5 minutes and rinse with cooler water. Be sure to use the cool setting on your hair dryer and use as little styling product as possible. Some good ones are Biolage Gel, Mousse, and Hair Spray, and Redken Glass is great for making your hair vibrantly shiny.

It sounds like a lot of work but once you get used to everything it's second nature. You get what you pay for in the case of shampoos and other hair products. Going more expensive for salon quality products means 1) no harsh chemicals, 2) you use less of the product because of the richer consistency, and 3) you save yourself from a lot of damage.

I've worked as a cosmetologist since 2000 in the Atlanta area so of course I've had lots of experience with African American hair. Generally the care is the same--the only real difference is you have to moisturize more often but the same salon products can be used for all ethnicities.

I think that the above will help with hair growth and keeping the hair that you have very healthy. :)

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

try going to the salon and getting a hot oil treatment. Hope that helps, good luck!

mayonnaise

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

yes, use Hollywood Beauty Carrot Creme, this stuff works really good at replacing moisture in hair, it doesn't contain petroleum jelly or mineral oil, you can buy it at Walmart, and Walgreen's drug store. it makes your hair soft and moist, and stops breakage, it is a little thick, but dont let that discourage you, it works really good !!

Also after you wash your hair, after you towel dry, and while your hair is still damp, always apply a hair oil, to seal in moisture.

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

Hello.A hot oil treatment is a great idea. But im not sure if you can use them everyday. Try using everyday products. I use Castor Oil ( I think by B%26amp;B) and Carrot Cream for my ends. I no longer have any split ends thanks to the carrot cream. And I use these products every other day. It just depends on how often your hair dries out. Since my head is sumo ( hehe) I try to oil it every couple of days...oh and make sure you wear a silk scarf at night too. As a result I have long silky hair. Hope this helps!

Have you tried this product called OJON. It is supposed to be amazing. It has shea butter and we know that that so well on our dry skin. It is all natural stuff. It works on all hair types and you can get it on line and QVC sells it in kits. You may need more than just an oil treatment. I have a friend that has naturally curly hair and it is very course and thick and her hair gets frizzy but this stuff is great. Good Luck!

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

Trust me on this one. Go to your local "SUPERCUTS" salon and ask them for a product called "Biosilk". Get the kit which comes with three products;shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. While your'e at it, get your ends clipped to help put you on a good start to healthy silky hair.

My hair recently dried out very badly. Does anyone know what I can do to repair the damage?

Try this stuff called "cholesterol" it works for me. and its supposed to be good for all hair types

Im a african american woman.how do i get a curly hairstyle like tracee ross or something natural wit

my hair drops on my shoulders when i wear it down and it is probably longer if i permed it.i have been going natural for almost 8 months.i just shampoo and condition my hair.but how can i make it curly like tracee ellis ross or something natural.some people tell me let it air dry after i wash it and condition.some says try mixed chicks products, but is there something cheap in salon stores or walmart or walgreens?

Im a african american woman.how do i get a curly hairstyle like tracee ross or something natural without braid

Try mousse, or getting a perm (the kinds from the eighties). That's really all I can think of. I'm mixed, and have never heard of "mixed chick" products, but my hair is naturally curly like that so...

Im a african american woman.how do i get a curly hairstyle like tracee ross or something natural without braid

Braid it... lol

Im a african american woman.how do i get a curly hairstyle like tracee ross or something natural without braid

get a perm. not the straight one but the curly one. or just use a curling iron and jel or hairspray

For all those young african american hairstylists?

i died my hair about 5 timez.and my hair is dry and brittle. and it was cut in a mohawk and its growing back funnie.

soo here are my three questions

1.i dont want to cut my hair short again. but i cant afford to go to the salon every other week. what are some haitstyles i can wear?(something i can do at home)

2. how do i network to find good hairstylist?

3.what products can i use that moisturize my hair but not weight it down

For all those young african american hairstylists?

wat about the ?

For all those young african american hairstylists?

First of all, to moisturize your hair try "Organic Root Stimulator". It's in most drugstores that sell black hair products. It's works really well and helps your hair grow back faster and stronger. For the style if you don't want to cut your hair but currently are sporting a Mohawk, you might try individual braids. It will camouflage the length without cutting it. And you can style it hundreds of different ways using ties, clips, bands and such. To network with other hairstylist, best thing to go is in your area, when you see someone you feel has great hair, compliment her and ask who does your hair? Most people will be flattered and give you the name and address of their stylist. They sometimes get a discount or free style from the operator for a new referral. Word of mouth is the BEST way. Communicate!!

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how........

can i make it have bounce in it

because you know how black people can have straightened hair and how it stays in one place and never is bouncy

For example: If i go upside down my hair doesn't go down it stays how it is

Example 2: If i move my head my hair doesn't move which i WANT my hair to move.

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

A hair saloon probably has good products that work, those examples, lol

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

If you want it to be bounciful you probably should get a relaxer instead.

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

get extentions or use straigtners !!

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

i have that same exact problem, but be proud of what you have

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

i don`t really know sorry i tryed

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

Have you tried deep conditioning your hair regularly, you also may be putting something on you hair to heavy when pressing. If you hair is medium to long you can try a blow dryer again with non heavy sheen or moisturizer for our hair, or and you and also try flat irons, see with the straightening comb the stuff you might be using to press hard could be weighing it down. No I am not a hair dresser, but I am a Sista-Holla!! Also a trim from time to time help keep your hair healthy. Last but not least, you can perm your hair, now please don't fuss, I was just giving you an option. Good luck and take care!

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

Back in the day, we used a spray oil and just used a pick to bring out our fros and it was bouncy like you are wanting it to be.

I have a natural African American Afro, and use a hot comb to straighten it sometime but how..........?

I have to do the same with my hair and it dosent have much bounce because of the grease you have to use weighs it down, so I suggest you get a good flat iron, preferably conair and dont use much greas use pink lotion, really light (not much) and you should have some swing, if not click on my avatar and I`ll give you somemore tips

I am a African american looking for a skater hairstyle?

i have about 4 inches of hair and i was wondering how much freedom will my hair have when i relax it and what would happen if i put hair gel in it. i wanna try things without looking stupid i am tired of afro, braids, and short cut... please help me....

I am a African american looking for a skater hairstyle?

why dont you try a mohawk?

i saw two black dudes with one yeaterday and it looked pretty good on them. not stupid at all. and you wont have to use harsh chemicals or gel to get the look you want. just a razor.

or you could shave one of those designs into your head. thats different.

this is the only pic i could find and this looks like his natural hair. sorry. i tried though :)

I am a African american looking for a skater hairstyle?

Try a chemical straightening, then you can have straight hair and just have it redone every few months.

My sis permed her hair for grad but when she came bask it was kind of poofy, but not as poofy as bef

If she tries to comb it down it looks bad cuz its not straight as its suppose to be. She has natural african-american hair about shoulder length, will this happen 2 me if i perm my hair?? help plzzz!

My sis permed her hair for grad but when she came bask it was kind of poofy, but not as poofy as before.?

you cant comb a perm like you do with normal hair. its best when you get out of the shower or done washing it put styling moose in it to hold the curls better.

My sis permed her hair for grad but when she came bask it was kind of poofy, but not as poofy as before.?

Perms are used for adding curls to your hair. Relaxers are used for straightening. Did she use the wrong product? If its an emergency, I think she should find a black salon and go in for a wash and wrap. When her hair comes out of the wrap it should be straight regardless of what she put in it.

Girls!! african american girls i mean.........?

yeah , this isnt a good question to ask..

Girls!! african american girls i mean.........?

I'M NOT TAKING THIS A BAD WAY, BUT IF YOU READ THE BIBLE. IT READS THAT JESUS HAIR WAS LIKE WOOL. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN LONG WOOL. BESIDE A COAT.

Girls!! african american girls i mean.........?

how dont know

Girls!! african american girls i mean.........?

LETS SAY IT'S A RACE THING. A LOT OF BLACK WOMEN DO NOT HAVE LONG HAIR, THE ONES THAT DID LET SOME ONE TALKED THEM INTO CUTTING IT BECAUSE THEY WERE HATERS. OTHERS PUT TOO MANY CHEMICALS IN THEIR HAIR AND CAUSE IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE, BUT AGAIN THERE A LOT OF BLACK WOMEN THAT DO HAVE A GREAT HEAD OF HAIR, WE ARE OUT THERE, IT'S NOT THAT RARE. MY FAMILY, MOTHER AND FATHER SIDE ALL THE WOMEN HAVE THICK SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR OR LONGER. THEN SOME WOMEN DONT HAVE THE TIME, MONEY OR PATIENCE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR HAIR SO THEY ADD WEAVES, BRAIDS, HAIRPIECES OR JUST CUT IT OFF.

Girls!! african american girls i mean.........?

I'm sure you didn't mean it the wrong way and just wanted to know, so I'm going to answer your question. Anyways, there are a lot of different things that African American women do to their hair. In fact, the Black hair care industry is worth around $90 million dollars. However, many of the products contain ingredients that are bad for all hair and cause it to become brittle and break or dry out. It is a common misconception that Black hair is hard to tame, unruly, unmanageable, and resilient (this is even true to Black people). However, this is not the case, African American hair is some of the most susceptible hair to damage and therefore, becomes broken or prone to breakage. So, on top of bad products, black women also to tend to style there hair in such a way that it puts it under a lot of stress (such as tight braiding). Truth be told, black women's hair grows at the same speed as other ethnicities and is capable of growing to the same lengths. The problem doesn't reside in the hair, but in the individual. I hope this clears up some of your confusion as well as anyone else who was too afraid to ask.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

I was just wondering. My best friend loves the fashion, but wanted to know if black girls can be "scene" or whatever before she actually cuts her hair and everything, you know?

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

Not to be racist or anything, but it would be awfully hard to tell if a black girl was trying to be scene. They already have black hair, and many non-scene black girls have straightened side bangs. I guess maybe by the clothes?

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

what is a "scene" girl? i've never heard that term before.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

Of course they can. They'll stand out a little more, but being a bit different can be quite sexy.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

yes definitely

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

I wondered what "scene" was myself, so here is the definition, from Urban Dictionary. Race is not mentioned as a defining characteristic, so yes, your black friend can be "scene".

typical "scene" girl:

-choppy hair

-usually black

-septum ring

-has a myspace with pictures of her from crazy angles with a TUFF face on because shes so hardxcore

-goes to local shows all the time

-belongs to a livejournal community called "cuntxcore" or "gungunbangbang" ; or "murderscene". because anything involving guns, or bang, or murder, or glamour, electric, shock, lust, or ****, is cool in her book

-often says things like "SUP NIGZ" or "KTHXBAI" or "I HATE YOU KDIE" or "IM COOLER THAN YOU K" or "SUP IM RAD" on their myspace profile

-loves dinosaurs and robots and little girl bows and headbands because its just the way things are in the scene. dont ask them why all of them happen to find all of these things suddenly attractive, because they dont know themselves, its just what TOTALLY SCENExCORE people do.

usually theyre just obnoxious bitches who put on this "scener than thou" attitude and hate everyone else, kthxbai lol.

i am so scene, with my dinosaur shirt and my polka dot headband and my short choppy black hair and my cigarettes and my obnoxious attitude %26lt;3 kiss my *** kthxbai see you at the hardcore show tomorrow.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

they would have to dress like it more than usual, it will be harder, but possible.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

I prefer slim tall pretty white girls, just preference, i speak for many guys.

Peace.

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

yAA ! .. i hate racist ppl :@ .. ( ps. talkin about some ppl on this) anyway .. im what you would call scene .. got to admit .. w/e .. like yaa she totally can .. im mixed ( black+ white_ .. it doesnt matter any1 can be .. just dont be a poser try to stand out a lil and tell her not to say shes scene to an1 cuz thats like totally poser anyway yaa its awesome tell her hellz yaa ! xD c ya hope i helped :D

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

yea. There is no rule about being a color to be ''emo'' or ''scene''.Just be yourself because if your asking this question scene isn't for you

Can African American girls be "scene girls"?

yes ive seen alot,if her hair is right i mean most blacks cant damage there nappy kinky hair like that

Im african american how can i keep my roots straiqht with out using a relaxer?

i have really thick hair and it grows really fast but its

hard to keep my hair looking nice because it grows so

fast....what other kind of products can i use?

Im african american how can i keep my roots straiqht with out using a relaxer?

Flat iron does not get all the way to the roots especially around the hair line area. Try using a pressing comb.

Im african american how can i keep my roots straiqht with out using a relaxer?

Get yourself a good heat protectant and a good flat iron with temp control. Make sure the heat protectant doesn't have alcohol in it. It would be even better if you just left your hair natural.

Im african american how can i keep my roots straiqht with out using a relaxer?

Check out a dominican beauty salon. They use this cream that is like a relaxer but without such harsh chemicals and blow out the hair.

Im african american how can i keep my roots straiqht with out using a relaxer?

Go to a good dominican salon. Let them wash and blow dry your hair. It will be straight and will last for a while. Youcan not go to them often though because they use high levels of heat with the blow dryer. You have thick hair so it will be ok. Or try getting a really good deep conditioner like organic root stimulator olive oil packets and a real good ceramic flat iron. This should do the trick!!! Good Luck!!!

What is a Retexturizer (for your hair)?

I have normal African American hair so its pretty hard to deal with, I was wondering if a retexturizer would make my hair more manageable and would actually make it move.

Would a retexturizer work like if I had a relaxer in it? How damaging is it? Would it be better for me just to get a relaxer? How well would my hair grow if it got retexturized? What really is a retexturizer?

What is a Retexturizer (for your hair)?

Many stylists refer to relaxers and the Japanese straightening systems as "retexturizers." If you are thinking about having this done, you should talk to a hair stylist and find out exactly what this term means to them. Some are more damaging than others, but they also seem to be less likely to revert. It should not effect your hair growth. Sometimes when you use chemical on your hair it seems like it doesn't grow as well, but that's just because you are experiencing breakage from over processing.

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

My hair is now a bit longer than shoulder-length and is a dark-brown color. I don't mind dyeing my hair colors but they may not go with my complection. I complection is a bit of a cardboard brown.

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

I don't quite understand what you mean by 'gothic'. Goths usually have their hair carefully styled, or long and natural.

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

why wouldn't it look good? Your hair is already a dark color, so that would be natural. If you want to dye a crazy color, do blue or purple streaks or ends

And the above answers are just racist!

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

ummm well you can get this look if you have a thin and or fine grade of hair i have the both of these to and i have scene hair

dont know if you can tell from my pic lol umm i dont much about goth hair i know it's all balck and spiked sorry%26gt;

How to achieve longer hair?

I'm an african american with short hair but, I want longer, stronger hair. How can I achieve this without getting braids?

How to achieve longer hair?

I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.

GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition.

ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that

http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...

This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.

I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.

The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.

My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.

The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth.

Washing your hair everyday damages your hair.. read on more tips below!

Having Hair Problems??!?!?

Check this ouT!

Take good care of your hair! It will add to your charm - who can resist a person with lovely, silky hair? So do try out the above tips! Hope these littles tips have been useful! :)

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans

* Yogurt

* Almonds

* Vitamin B

* Fish

* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

How to achieve longer hair?

Use garnier fructise long and strong fortifying shampoo and conditioner, or Maine and Tail works to grow out hair, Brush or comb it often, it "wakes up" the hair folicles and somehow makes the hair grow... I read that in a book so you can believe that it's true. Also, putting it up in a tightly- twisted bun often works. Make sure you get a trim once in a while so your hair stays healthy and strong. Use a hair complex formula that you can find at walgreens, cvs,k kmart, etc. I also recommend treating hair with olive oil once a week. It works for me. These work on any kind of hair. And this sounds gross, and I dont know if I would try it, but I've heard that mayonaise for 1 hour about once a week works on making hair shiney and strong. Good luck!

I'm african american and i am light skinned but i'm afraid of color i like medium dark bro

what i mean is that i'm heavy set and i only look good if i'm rocking a short cut i want my hair to be more than one color but i'm afraid because i'm to heavy it want look right i'm not out of shape or anything i carry the weight well i'm more solid but back to the hair i like warm colors even when it comes to the makeup i like warm tones like bronze eye make up and lipstick what do you suggest about the hair color

I'm african american and i am light skinned but i'm afraid of color i like medium dark browns is that to lite

I agree with the 1st answer, weight has nothing to do with it. As long as you have the confidence, you can rock almost any look you want to.

As far as color, when in doubt though, I'd suggest something close to your skin tone. A light shade of brown, maybe. That's what I did, and it turned out nice. Or if you want more than 1 color, maybe try a light color at the top, and a darker color toward the bottom.

Girl the color doesn't have anything to do with being heavy set,the length of your hair does though. Okay back to the question. I am also a lighter skin tone of African American decent I use Cover-girl#4kt 215 (Country Winds). The colors include Coffee,Mink,Barely Beige and Mocha. http://www.covergirl.com They are fabulous! I'm african american and I'm wanting a skater hairstyle?

Extensions will work but if your hair breaks alot then you may want to get a sew in or a lacefront weave so that it won't mess up your natural hair.. If you have enough hair to get it cut into that style do it, make sure when you go to bed you wrap it so when you get up all you have to do is comb it into that style, without using any heat..Also get a good leave in conditioner i use pantene..As far as taking care of extensions it is just like your own.You can wash it but remember it is not yuour hair so you can't be rough with it..GOOD LUCK!!

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

Does it damage the hair in anyway? {for African American hair}

Can you use conditioner in place of oil sheen or petroleum jelly, and other oils?

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

It is absolutely fine to use conditioner on days you don't shampoo. It is not neccessary to wash your hair every day. Especially if your hair is extremely dry or course, like African American hair. Conditioner won't harm a thing...seriously! Shampoo is to cleanse your scalp, conditioner is to soften and protect your ends. I am a hair stylist. 9 years. Conditioner is perfectly fine, but do cleanse every 2-3 days.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

Davey looks white to me. Conditioner will weigh the hair down and make it appear greasy.

No.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

I used to use hair conditioner to wash my hair all the time because it is so thick and conditioner would straighten it out.

I would think conditioner is alright to use but your hair will get dirty quicker without using a shampoo to wash it and just using conditioner...I have done it many times but not anymore.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

I believe that unless it says that is it a leave-in conditioner then you should wash it out. The conditioner is to condition by adding what the shampoo took out. You can leave it in longer. I would suggest finding a leave-in conditioner.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

I would say yes but put the leave in conditioner in your? hair. Try syling products like Beyond the Zone leave in conditioner. It works great. I am pretty sure THIS one might do good. There are others to. But if you use regular wash out conditioner it will make your? hair look nasty.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

well it may get dirtier way faster and make your hair look greesy. my mom doess hair and thats what she had told me.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

generally for hygenic sake, we suppose to wash our hair b4 applying hair conditioner.

secondly, whereby you fail to wash your hair, u are simply attracting dandruff into ur hair.

finally, a well washed conditioned hair look more attractive, neat and simple both for African and American hair.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

yeah, if you want oily nasty hair. (no, don't go there)

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

No. Please don't try that with the normal "rinse-after-applying". According to a magazine I read some time ago, it can cause buildup which could possibly lead to dandruff, itching, or oiliness. It might also make your hair seem limp and heavy because the conditioner might end up weighing your hair down.

However, there are some leave-on conditioners which can give hair look shinier, minus the heavy feel of the first kind (of conditioner). Of course, the formulation of the leave-on type is different from the traditional "rinse-after-applying" type.

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

1st of all hair is hair doesn't matter ethnic background. it is still made up of the same properties. products can be left in the hair that is why they make them. African American hair has a tendency to be drier and more unmanageable so you would benefit the most from this it is called conditioner not damager

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

Conditioner is one thing

oils are another thing.

African Americans hair is works the same as any other hair, the only difference is MOST African Americans that you run into have chemically straightened hair!

Is it okay to but hair conditioner in our hair without washing it?

no! it wont damage ur hair!! it will amke it smother n will look better , it also prevent hair from puffing. but there are also hair creams that u can use in set of oils n jelly stuffs that damage ur hair use sunsilk..use it after the shower..

good luck!!

Question for African American Women without a relaxer?

I am currently growing my relaxer out. My last relaxer was May of 06. I currently get my hair straightened with a blowdryer and flat iron by my hair dresser every two weeks. I am debating going back to having a relaxer because my hair seemed like it was more versatile then because my "edges" go back curly within 3-4 days. I don't want to cut my hair and wear a short natural, but I don't know of any natural hair styles for longer hair. My natural hair is about 8-10 inches long. My texture is 4A. Any suggestions?

Question for African American Women without a relaxer?

Since you already have 8-10 inches of natural hair, you could probably cut it now and go all natural. It should be long enough to at least put into a ponytail.

There are a number of styles that you can do with longer hair. Because your hair is a little curlier than 4b, you probably but a good pomade or setting lotion on after washing your hair, and get a nice curly look. You can do twists, and style them in various way, just as you would box braids. You can do flat twists, cornrows, and ponytails. I'd start with the basic 2 strand twist, and explore that option, and go from there. A couple of great websites for natural hair are www.napturalglory.com, www.nappturality.com, and www.blackhairmedia.com Good luck!!

Question for African American Women without a relaxer?

well, it depends on how long you keep the relaxer in before washing it out. and it also doesn't work if you don't get the edges or all of your hair really well. it also depends on which kind of relaxer that you use. i use the kind that looks like a gray tub with a maroon lid. red velvet

Question for African American Women without a relaxer?

grow your hair natural because when u relax it it takes too much care. if your going somewhere special then u flat iron it. but if is a normal day then u could braid it, put in corn rows, buns, or maybe even puffs

Question for African American Women without a relaxer?

keep getting a relaxer
