I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

is it possible that the baby will have blonde hair?

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

Possible, but unlikely.

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

Depends if the person in question had an ancestor that had a recessive gene that will make it to your baby. Chances are pretty good that the baby would likely have dark hair, but who knows? I thought my kids would have dark hair because it's all my side has, but my daughter is as blond as my husband.

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

It's possible that you will have a baby....that's all you know. It will be beautiful and have a loving mother and father I hope.

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

Anything is possible

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

Dark hair is dominant gene. So your pretty mixed baby will probably have dark hair.

I am caucasian. If I have a child with someone who is 3/4 Panaminian, 1/4 African American...?

sure why the hell not whatev lolwtfbbq

Curls for Relaxed black hair!!!?

I think that the scrunched look is very cute but dont know how to achieve it. I have long african american hair that is very soft. I want to know if there are any at home products that can give me the look of a twist set or something similar... i want waves and curls... Help is much appreciated!!!

Curls for Relaxed black hair!!!?

i want to give you a tip of how to make beautiful wave curls like they wear in hollywood....grab your curling iron and try it the same time you read this....grab a section big as your curling iron....place the curling iron close to the root of your scalp but give it a little room so that that hair close to the root of your head go around the curling iron only once. then stop. take a look at the position of the hair. the hair should be close to the beginning where the handle is....then start wrapping he hair around the curling iron goinging to the left. hold the tip of the hair for five second then let go and walla.

very important to know. when wrapping the hair around the curling iron you are not opening it at all. it is wrap around the whole iron. the only part of the hair which is clamp down is the hair that you put in ther first which is all the way over the right side close to where the handle is.

i cant find a picture so you can see how it will look when the hair is in the curling iron. but you will see it if you watch america top model, flavor of love charm school, or look through hair magazines. it is very easy once you got it.

if this is too hard for you this will work well http://www.conair.com/ceramic-instant-he...

girl where it up...go get u a magazine like black hair...u can ge a french roll but when i went on prom my hair dresser but it in a big *** bun and it was mad crzy in the front like some 3D **** and I had curls cominng down

Up Does? how should i wear my hair for prom?

i think hair looks nice when its up

it will look nice in an updo!

Up Does? how should i wear my hair for prom?

I would go to a local salon-and go now so you are not waiting until the last minute. Tell your favorite stylist that you want an up do for prom and ask how much she will charge. Iam white, with stringy "beach" hair and although I can do my own up do, it's hard and takes hours! Lots of product, and it's difficult to get the back.

When I have to look perfect, go to the salon. Also, When you are doing an updo, you might want to buy clip in extenstions for the night to add volume. Most stylists know how to use these. Find a hairstyle you like that looks good on your face and bring that magazine to the salon. You might want to have it done once now as an experiment to see what you like. Then, you know exactly what you need for prom night.

I've seen some gorgeous African American women in LA, and their hair is DONE. Beautiful updos, curls, straight-all of this can be done at the salon.

Have a great time at prom!

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

my hair isn't african american style.. its more curly frizzy.. i know perms are "bad".. but sometimes i need it to tame my hair a little bit.. and make it easier to comb and whatnot..

ok so the problem is that my roots have outgrown from previous hairdying.. i haven't dyed my hair in many many months.. and i just permed it on august 26.. i was told to wait at least 4 weeks before doing other treatments on my hair.. now i really don't want to wait so long.. i prefer to dye my hair this week.. but i need your opinion..

btw i permed my own hair and i know its safe to dye your hair only if its temperarly.. but i want to dye it my own self permanently..

ok i think i wrote a little too much.. haha.. thanks in advice for all of your opinion :)

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

I well say you should wait at lest 4week because your hair can break from all that chemical, but if you still go ahead and dye your hair make sure you deep conditioner your hair every time you wash your hair, and use less heat as possible. Good luck

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

After you get a perm then you can't dye your hair. Well, you can but it will fry your hair. A person who's hair is all fried just looks bad.

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

They say that you should wait at LEAST two weeks before putting another type of chemical in your hair.

For some, it's a little longer.

I'd say if your hair is in good shape, just wait two weeks.

If you've got damaged hair, I'd wait at least 3 or 4.

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

at least 2 weeks

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

my hair dresser tells me to wait at least 6 weeks between dyes and perms.

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

hun i have a perm and i have highlights i am a natural brunetter with blonde nd caramel highlights all the way around so it look like im naturaly blonde i have been doing this 4 bout 2-3 yrs and i w8 about at least 2 wks each time i do it cuz it will be perfect!

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

I was in the same position, as long as your dying it darker and using a good conditioner. I did it after a week :P Im was fine! Oh and my name isnt marcus, i am a woman!

How long does one wait to dye their hair after having a perm ?

I would wait at least 3 weeks .

Hair fertilizers?

My question is this. What hair care products are good for stimulating growth, and stop hair loss in african american women? Also can these products be applied to virgin as well as chemically treated hiar?

Hair fertilizers?

There is aproduct called Nioxin that is good for ALL hair types. It is all natural and has lines for both virgin and chemically treated hair. This product guarantees that it can stop hair loss, and in many cases it will help you grow hair back. It is a great product and I recommend it highly. I've seen it work on many clients, family members and friends.

Hair fertilizers?

I hear Nioxin is good for anyone who's experiencing hair loss, regardless of race or gender -- and it comes in different formulas, for chemically treated and for virgin hair. My 18-yr.-old son just started on it, but it's too early to tell whether it's having any effect. I'm crossing my fingers. Good luck, eh?

Hair grease?

I am a nurse in a juvenile detention center. The facility that I work for does not carry hair grease. The African American youth that I care for often ask me to get it for them, they say that they need it. Can you tell me what hair grease is and what the use of it is (not a subject that was covered in nursing school). Thank you for the help.

Hair grease?

African American (AA) hair is naturally dry and we need grease/oil to apply to our scalp/hair to keep it healthy. Otherwise, the hair can become excessively dry, itchy, get dandruff, break, and eventually fall out. There are various types of grease that all pretty much do the same thing, just different brands. It is found in the cosmetic aisle with other AA products and for AA hair, this is a necessity. If you are planning to buy in bulk maybe you can ebay it to save $$. Good luck!

Hair grease?

African American's hair is dry in comparison to say Caucasian's. Hair grease can be one of many products under many names, but it is anything that can restore the oil that is lost as hair is brushed or combed.

Check out any beauty supply store or Sally's Beauty Supply for many products to choose from .

Hair grease?

try a specialty hair supp;ly store that specializes in afro american hair products. try the yellow pages or make some calls to salons for suppliers. it makes their hair smooth and shiny alot like hair gel. good luck 2 you.

Hair grease?

It's just something that is used in the hair to help groom it and keep it from drying out, breaking off and knotting up. I don't think it's something that can be of detriment. It's just like anyone else asking for hair conditioner

Hair grease?

Its to tone down their curls...so their hair is so frizzy. Its like a hair jell...that has a wet look to it.

Go to a walmart or pharmacy and ask for it.....

Hair grease?

Hair grease or oil is used by African Americans to help control the dryness of their hair. African hair is the most fragile hair of all human races and takes a lot more care. The oil helps to prevent the hair from breaking off and the scalp from becoming excessively dry. By the way our skin is dryer than most people as well. Find out the name brands they are asking for and if you are allowed to purchase it at a beauty supply shop or wal-mart.

Hair grease?

hair grease is grease ..i dont think its animal grease..but its used to make hair less frizzy and calm it down a little.. also when they braid there hair they can use that to keep them in place and neat.

Hair grease?

African americans hair is easier to dry out so they put grease init to make it look healthy and fresh.

Hair grease?

At adult prisons hair grease is listed as a cosmetic. If it's allowed at the detention center then buy African Pride, Doo Gro, Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion.

Hair grease?

i wouldnt say it was a cosmetic item. although it is used as such. hair grease is used on hair as well as in the scalp to alliviate dry scalp witch inturn produces dandruff.. it is very uncortable to have dry scalp. Its like a shampoo and conditioner, it is needed. although it might seem like cosmetic i dont consider it as so.

What hair product should I use?

Okay...I'm an African American/Native American and my hair is naturally curly, thick, long, and frizz easy...I need some kind of products to help my hair become straight but goes back to its natural way when I want..When I flat iron,it doesnt stay long and I have to keep doing that,it's messing up my ends...Can somebody help me please..(P.S.I dont want to get any perms)

What hair product should I use?

Use smoothing serum after you shower

Some good brands are Garnier, "got2b glossy" %26lt;-- great product and smells great too!! and a Suave one in an orange bottle. That will reduce the frizz, and as long as you brush it flat while it dries it will stay a little straighter. Trim your ends if they're damaged!! Use a ceramic straightener, hair spray and maybe hair wax. That's all I know of!

What hair product should I use?

himalaya

What hair product should I use?

Infusium 23 products used with the Maxiglide by Maxius.

The Maxiglide is a straightening hair appliance that uses steam to straighten your hair.

Also try Garnier Fructis products or Pantene anti frizz shampoos and conditioners.

What hair product should I use?

why fight the curl..curly can look really cute, stop trying to have straight hair and do a nice curly doo!

What hair product should I use?

wash it then use a hot comb then when you sleep it will come back normal!

What hair product should I use?

frizz ez @@

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

I put rollers and wrapped it up last night and its like it frizzed up and we had to flat iron and curl it this morning, I know that putting heat in her hair everyday will mess it up but what can I do to make it look decent on a daily basis w/o the curler and flat iron? Any ideas this is African american hair

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

What texture is your daughter's hair, and how old is she? These will help answer your question.

Have you tried wrapping her hair once it's been flat-ironed? That will help keep it smooth and straight. You won't have to put heat on it every day. (Direct hair in counter-clockwise motion around head, securing with hair pins, and tying with scarf or kerchief).

Flat-twists in the front look nice, and the back can be up in a ponytail, in a fro, or straight down her back.

If you just don't have the time, have her hair cornrowed or braided, and tie it down at night.

If her hair has a wavy texture, experiment with mouse, conditioner and/or gel to bring out her natural curl.

GOOD LUCK!!

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

You could find a spray or serum that protects hair from heat damage. I have a bottle and it's working out great for me! Check a salon, you could take your daughter in and ask them this very question. I'm sure they'd have some professional and decent advice for you and perhaps offer a few products.

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

Go to a professional hairstylist and work with her to get a good haircut on your daughter.. I think a good hair cut helps any type hair maintain a good shape there are also different products she will recommend to keep the down the frizzies.

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

Try a relaxer or straightening cream after showering, and brush hair really good. A flat iron will ruin the poor child's hair and damage it beyond belif.

How can I maintain my daughter 's hair w/o curling it or straigtening it daily?

u could wrap your hair... mostly african americans with relaxed hair do this but it can be done to hair of any ethnicity that is wavy or almost straight... my hair is way to curly to do this... u just brush all your hair in one direction in a big circle (behive style) around your head (you will probably have to pin it) i would start by parting from ear to ear... comb half of your hair forward (like over your eyes) and the rest back... then start @ one ear and brush the front section going towards the other ear... pin it... then do the same in the back (in the other direction)... then just keep brushing and combing in a big circle around your head (kinda like your head is a giant roller)... the just tie a scarf around it tite and sleep on it... u make have to use a flat iron where the clips were but it's better than all over

How much money do you spend on hair products?

and what kind of items do you buy? i need some help on what hair products to get? i have african-american hair and no matter what i put on it, it turns dry the next hour? can i have some help

?

How much money do you spend on hair products?

My hair used to be very dry (over worked from perming and living in a very dry climate). I used Luster's Pink Oil at night. It's really old school stuff but it was great at moisturizing my hair. I would braid my hair (it was fairly long) with Pink Oil in it before bed. It was not expensive at all.

How much money do you spend on hair products?

I spend like 15 dolars a month!

Get moose, it doesn't burn your hair!

How much money do you spend on hair products?

$15-$20 a month. But I only buy gel and shampoo. Sorry I can't help you with the other questions %26gt;:)

How much money do you spend on hair products?

I spend $0. I use bar soap on my har once every three days or so. It doesn't strip my hair like shampoo, and it feels cleaner, longer.

How much money do you spend on hair products?

i'm African American. and i just go to walmart and buy some Herbal Essences and little ponytails to tie my hair up with and i buy some Black n' Sassy hair grease from my local hair store. it all costs a total of probably 10 or $11.

How much money do you spend on hair products?

i am not positive on this because i dont kow a whole lot about your hair type, but generally speaking- use a natural oil product that is leave in and put like a "slumber cap"over it.. sleep with it on, the cap will help keep the moisture in and give the oils a chance to penetrate

How much money do you spend on hair products?

I only need shampoo and hair oil which will be around 2 dollars per month...Since i dont need the others so i haven't looked for it...

How much money do you spend on hair products?

$20 pr mnth n i use sammy or mousse but i dunno wt u can put on ur hair srry

How much money do you spend on hair products?

about 50$... plus a hair cut in there. nothing to insane......for black hair use oil based products like olive oil...and silicone dioxide. Make sure to avoid sulfates in your shampoo and conditioners cause it will dry it more.and dont be afraid to NOT rinse out all of your conditioner.

How much money do you spend on hair products?

Wow! it depends on what I buy. About 16 for the conditioner. I have very long hair and use Pantene. Other brands that are cheaper are watered down, so I use more of them, thus saving not much in the long run.

A bottle of shampoo lasts about two months so say a dollar for that.

I rarely use any other hair care product, so about a dollar for those also.

But here is where it gets sketchy. I buy a lot of hair pretties and such. So some months I may pay 10 to 15, some months I buy none. I say the average month about 5 for pretties. So all told it is about 25 a month. It is that durn conditioner that makes it so high.

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

Hi...:) I put a relaxer on my daughter's hair. One for African American children..no lye. It worked well. Her hair is between course and fine. She had very wavy hair. I have spiral-like curls, medium to long fine hair. Would the same relaxer work for me? I want to relax it just a bit. These curls can become unruly, tight and I would like looser curls. Thanks for any SERIOUS comments. :)

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

ummm no they have specail relaxers for your hair type i know what your talking about and i would get theis one done at a salon here are some products for relaxers for your hair type

http://www.folica.com/hair_straightening...

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

what is a hair relaxer

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

The same relaxer you used for your daughter would not be good for you. There are relaxers made for Caucasian hair, or you could always try Japanese Hair Straightening if you really want to get rid of your curls that bad.

If you do go to the salon to get a relaxer, make sure you tell them you want looser curls, or TEXLAXED, otherwise they might do it straight.

閳绢櫄iffany

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

Then you do not want to leave the relaxer on your hair that long. If you just want to relax it a little bit. Both products will make your hair really straight.

I use Revlon Realistic Relaxer

Dr. Miracles Relaxer

Both are no lye formula. But be careful Revlon has two different types or relaxers no-lye and lye

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

wuts a hair relaxer?!?!

Would a HAIR RELAXER be OK for my hair??

go to a beauty supply store and talk to them....they deal with a lot of people who want to do their own hair.

Well, Malcolm X was 1/4 white and he was a redhead.

That doesn't really answer your question.

Not really

Those would be hideous children...please don't do that.

If you already "know people with that background" then you already know the answer to the question. So why are you asking?? I gave an opinion, just like you asked for. Who's the moron now?

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

I am not a policeman so I was wondering. I recall a cop show from the 1970s or 80s where the officer explained that the term ***** was used to avoid confusion with black (for example black hair, black car, black pants, etc.). No, I do not say "*****."

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

that would be awesome.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

They usually say black male.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

Where I'm from, it would be "male, black, approx. height and age, wearing......" I do not believe any agencies have used the term "*****" in say, 30 years?

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

No, They use "Black" or "African-American". "*****" went the way of "Colored" back in the early 70s.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

Black male or black female would be the proper descriptive words in "police lingo."

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

no they don't

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

We use "Black Male Adult" or "Black Male Juvenile" in my city.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

Black what ever, male, female.

*****? meybe in Mexico.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

First hyphenates are for morons. You are either an American or not. Second, no black is the term most often used.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

well here in the county jail they call blacks and Asians "racials" that's how they refer to them.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

no as you stated that was a 70-80's term.

when booking a person into the jail, there are according to the justice department 48 different areas of identification. race (6), nationality (1,132)

race=cauc, black, Indian, American Indian, Oriental, Spanish

nationality= cauc= irish, italian, etc

black= where from africa, nigerian etc

indian= pakastani,middle east

am indian= cherokee, arachee, lakota, nez pierce etc.

oriental= all of the orient and then each chineese dialect (32)

Spanish= Latin American, Mexican, all Spanish speaking so it can get complex.

not all states are broken down this far some just recognize white, black and Indian??

most departments use the black, white, Mexican, Indian, oriental as a description of the individual as the suspect was a ---male/ female

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

i wonder what African police call whites who visit or live in Africa.

Do police depts still use the term "*****" male to refer to an African-American male?

Not No, but He__ NO! And I live in the deep south, I mean i live in a place that could be mistaken for sparta Mississippi, right off of "in the heat of the night", some of the small rural towns here still have a "white" prom and a "black \" prom same for a white homecoming dance and a black homecoming dance. we are as backwards as it gets and no way no how do the police ever use the word "*****" not officially anyway, they would be sanctioned and have their butts cutt from the force

Olive Oil...

Which is better for hair growth -------Coconut Oil or Olive Oil?

Dear Friend,

I Prefer Cocunut Oil for you as I know lots of examples around me for long hair

Coconut oil is an edible oil that has been consumed in tropical places for thousands of years. Studies done on native diets high in coconut consumption show that these populations are generally in good health, and don't suffer as much from many of the modern diseases of western nations.

Coconut oil was once prevalent in western countries like the United States as well. With a long shelf life and a melting point of 76 degrees, it was a favorite in the baking industry. But a negative campaign against saturated fats in general, and the tropical oils in particular, led to most food manufacturers abandoning coconut oil in recent years in favor of hydrogenated polyunsaturated oils that come from the main cash crops in the US, particularly soy, and contain trans fatty acids. These polyunsaturated oils were not a big part of the diet of previous generations, so how has the health of Americans changed now that polyunsaturated oils are for the most part all one finds on supermarket shelves across the US? We encourage you to take an honest look at the research presented on this website, and consider the "other side" of the story, whether it be coconut oil, saturated fats, or the new vegetable oils!

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

Trim it like once a month and i gaurantee you it will grow fast :) OH Yeah and peanut butter and almonds...basicallty nuts really help with hair and nails :)

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

Vitamin supplements are key here. I had a friend take prenatal vitamins for months before her prom. I have heard prenatal vitamins are great even if you're not expecting and all the added nutrients help hair grow. Also gelatin is an old one, many a grandmother has attested to gelatin for hair and nail health. Horsetail silica at about 400 mg a day helps dramatically with shine and health. Biotin is another popular one. My coctail for hair and skin health is as follows, flaxseed oil, msm, potassium, zinc, selenium, vit.C, vit. E, magnesium and the ones I mentioned above. Many vitamin stores offer a great Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. Look for one with Horsetail silica.

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

well there are multiple options first eat healthy drink plenty of water, they make a vitamin that is for hair and nails it works great there is a shampoo called be long Ive used it and it worked for me and lastly make sure your hair doesn't have a chance to get split ends so i recommend using a product by redkin called extreme anti snap it in a blue bottle and is a leave in conditioner. good luck i hope it works for you:)

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

my hair is very long it is almost to my but and how i keep my hair up is not letting everyone play in my i go to the beautician once a year to get a perm and straighten out and after that i wash it every two weeks and comb it everyday that's how my hair grow so long and now my boyfriend straighten out for me about every three weeks but i let my hair air dry because too much heat can break your hair and i get my ends clip every two weeks

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

Keep it braided. Keep it dirty, meaning wash it every 10 days. Perm it every 3months. Keep heat away from it. If you wear weave try not using bonding glue.

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

keep it trimmed. Going to the shop and making sure you have no split ends will promote growth. Also a good multivitamin will not only help it grow but help it come in healthy and it is good for your health. Lastly keep your hair oiled and in good health

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

You know, egg is really good for hair. It has everything in it, carbs, amino acids, protein. I know its sounds gross but you know, natural things are best rather than using salon stuff. Take one egg %26amp; whisk it and then massage on to your scalp and hair for a few months every day and see if that works.

How to make hair grow without using extensions?

I have been growing out my perm of about a year now. I have tried extensions, braids, and twists. You want to make sure that you style your hair in a way that won't put stress on you hair. I really like having two strands twists. I also tried a straw set.(It was so easy to maintain.) I don't know if you are trying to acheive natural hair or not but my aunt told me about these products by Carol's Daughter that are natural. They don't use harsh chemical in their products and they smell great. I have starting using them and I love it. Good Luck. If you have any more questions or inspiration email me cutie2070@yahoo.com.

For african americans that relax their hair, what is the best styling product to use?

After you have relaxed your hair and are blowing it out, what products and procedures do you recommend? I really want to make my hair healthier, grow, and just plain look better with my relaxers.

For african americans that relax their hair, what is the best styling product to use?

Going to a professional beautician is the best way to make your hair healthier, grow, and look better. Just go to a Dominican or African-American hair salon. They'll be able to help you out with your hair. Don't be upset if they trim it. It will help your hair grow more. If you do your perm yourself, it can cause damage. Let them perm your hair, then every time you wash your hair you should put curlers in it and let it air dry. Using a blow dryer to dry your hair yourself may damage your hair. If you want your hair to grow, Shea butter hair lotion is good for your hair. Apply it to your hair and scalp. If you can't find it in a hair shop, ask a hairdresser if you can buy it from them. Also, try to remember which perm they used on your hair. There are different perms for different texture hair.

For african americans that relax their hair, what is the best styling product to use?

To be honest you sound like you are not black. But anyway I like Motions relaxer I use mild and I perm every 6-8 weeks. I use blowdry and use oil sheen and flat iron. I like to use lotta body and rollers if I am doing a wet set.

For african americans that relax their hair, what is the best styling product to use?

Seek a professional stylist. Never put chemicals in your own hair......although the box gives instructions.....its impossible to really kno what you are doin in the back of your own head. would you rather spend the money to get it done professionally every 6-8 weeks.....or spend 3x the money every week if you damage yourself and are forced to seek professional help??

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

I mean I'm on pins and needles when I'm talking to a black person and just want to tell him, it's the black lady with the short hair in room 206.... ??

whats the deal?

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

Just say it and see for crying out loud. You people are so up tight and you wonder why no one likes your ***.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

african american

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

How about by name?

If you dont know the persons name, just say the woman in room 206

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

You can say Black.

thats fine for general discussions.

People usually use "African American" when they are trying to be intelligent and PC.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

i'm white so refer to me as white

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

I don't live in America. Here in England, black people are just called black.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

Unless they start calling me a caucasian american, they are black.

But here is an even more novelty idea: skip the race and use OTHER ways to describe people.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

Black, but becarful who you say that too, someone might take that to offence.

x

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

You can call me Nubian Goddess if you really are asking. If that's too many syllables, I suppose Black Goddess is fine.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

either

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

If African American was shorter, I'd say use it, but it's looong so just say Black. As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with it. White people are White, right?

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

I think African American is the most correct.... FYI, did you know that we are actually all the same color. Mix red and yellow and blue together. You get a neutral color. We just differ by how much white to add or black to add.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

Why is she not just "the woman in room 206...." why do you use her race to describe who your talking about? How about learning her name, or describing something she is wearing? What do you want from us, ........an easier way to be rude?? IDIOT !!!

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

There are some instances where you can't just say "the lady in room 206." Like say, you were trying to describe someone so I see the dilemma there. I prefer black, since I was born and raised in the caribbean. My parents are not American, they are british and I had a teacher tell a white girl from South Africa that she couldn't mark "African American" on a document. If need be, say black. Everyone won't get offended. I sure don't. If I call people white, I expect them to call me black. If you know their name, use the name. Or other distinguishing characteristics (braids, blonde hair, tattoo).

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

i would say the black woman... but if i knew her name i would use it...

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

You should refer to me as my name.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

i guess if you had to point out what race she was to specify which exact person you were talking about, id say the dark skinned woman maybe?

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

I prefer black.

But if the woman in room 206 was white, would you describe her as "the white lady", or would you use some other description? Perhaps you should consider finding other ways to describe people than using race.

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

Black

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

- Lol whatever but really I don't care just make it quick or I'mma assume you're being PC

Should we refer to you as African American or Black?

I actually like the term "Colored"

Which would make everyone else, colorless.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

I have african american hair... if that helps.

I'm constantly getting bored with my hair, and am always wanting to cut it, but my hair grows very very slowly, it's almost as if it doesn't grow at all lol.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

Try taking a supplement called "Biotin". It is a B vitamin. You can also use Biotin shampoo/conditioner. I used the supplement and the shampoo and my hair grew like crazy.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

Go to the health food store and get BeePollen-it really works and your skin will be better too.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

I can only suggjest what I was told about my own hair. Maybe this could help you. Dry hair from dehydration causes hair to break off and appear hair is not growing. Plenty of water!! I was also told to eat well. Sleep well and also the vitamin Biotin which is also benificial to you skin and your nails. this biotin can be purchased at Wallgreens ect...Hope it helps! GOOD LUCK.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

Try a 'Hair, Skin and Nails' supplement. Perfectil is one although Valupak do one for a fraction of the price. Massaging the scalp should help as this would increase the blood supply to the hair follicles thus promoting hair growth.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

well i take prenatal vitamins for my hair and nails, which i do for hair health reasons and it really does work. and you get the extra vitamins that are not always in your diet. and the monthly trim gets the ends healthy the fight brakage. (sp?) anyway that is how i am being my hair back to life a bad hair cut.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

Not a hair dresser or anything...do u have 1 regular hair dresser that u go to? If u do, she will put hair treatments/conditioners in your hair every time u go. If u cannot go/get to 1. Do u know of any that knows u that u trust. I'm sure a gf can refer u to 1 just to ask advice, they usually give it even if u r not a reg. client but if not; First thing, if u have a perm use only a mild one. Go to Sally's/Iman's or a BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE. GET Doo Gro Products. U can use just the hair lotion, or shampoo/conditioner or hair grease (specify for growth). Get a mega conditioner/treatment (1 that stays on for 5 to 20 min. either under heat or put plastic cap on and then put a hot towel on top to generate some heat). Cut hair when the full moon is out {old wives tale..but I always think it works with me}. Use lotion/grease daily or every other. Shampoo hair put condition/treatment 1 or 2x/week. If u r bored w/ hair get a wig. They r not like our Mom's anymore. They have some nice ones 4 any age group and any price (u can cut, curl, color etc. w/o damage to your own hair. Be careful of color and perms together and STRESS DOESN'T HELP EITHER. Hope info helps u.

Is there any way I can get my hair to grow faster?

i dont think so. it depends on genetics. nothin can magically make ur hair grow fast, like at the speed of light. plaese.

I have African American hair, and when i braid my hair or plait it and take it out it becomes crinkly. I want to know how to keep it like that for like 2 weeks or a week. The crinkles usually fall out after 2 days.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

i have a five year old with beautiful thick long curly curly hair.she is very tenderheaded, just brushing her edges makes her cry.i dont want to put chemicals in her hair but i dont think i can torture her anymore with the combing and brushing please i need some advice.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

My mom had and still has the same problem with my little sister's hair. It's really long and curly and just brushing it makes her twinge. My mom first started washing her hair and just brushing it out. But she recently went and bought a straightening iron/press. And it doesn't relax the hair but straightens out the curls. the only problem is that if the hair gets wet it will curl back up. I wouldn't use that in your case because your daughter is so young. I was looking in a hair book last week. Have you ever seen the relaxer for little girls? I think it's called "just for me" or something like that. Well, they just released a new product that instead of relaxing the hair it just loosens the curls. It's made for girl with really curly and "nappy" hair. I haven't tried it yet but you may want to find it try some.good luck!

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

my mom had this problem and she eventually gave up and started relaxing my hair. applying a lotion or thicker oil moisturizer to her hair may make it easier to manage. if the chemical thing isnt right, try to take her to a black salon to get her hair pressed.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

i'm not a mother, but my hair used to just like that

i used Just For Me detangling spray and my mother combed it while it was wet, and had many conditioners from just for me, until she gets old enough for chemicals, i would try that

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

I agree. You may want to have her hair pressed out at a salon. This will make it better for you and her. If worse comes to worse, you may have to put a relaxer on it but make sure you take her to a salon to get it done the first time.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

Use a detangler/comb out spray before you comb and brush the child's hair.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

use a wide tooth comb and comb her hair when it is wet to detangle and also use a little bit of conditioner when it is damp, or oil will work to. Dont forget to comb from bottom to top.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

Combing hair while its wet with a wide tooth comb helps and lessens the tangles and pain. You just might need to get a spray detangler. I use this on my daughter who is mixed. To soften the hair and make it more manageable condition it every night and while its wet put it in big braids to keep it tangle free. And while combing, don't pull it from the scalp, comb from the ends, detangle from the bottom first then work your way up. I hope this helps.

Only for women or men who have african american children or who are proffesional hairstylist?

I don't think that you should relax her hair. She's only five. Once you relax it her curls will be gone. Just experiment with different products until you find one that works.

How do you take out african american dreads?!?1?

I have had dreads for about three years...I would like to take them completely and start over. How can I take them out without my hair being seriously damaged?

How do you take out african american dreads?!?1?

You can try to save what little new growth you have, but the length will have to be cut off. So you definitely have to start over - sorry . . . you should have been told that when you first started.

How do you take out african american dreads?!?1?

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

have the natural kinky black hair..with some white american hair textures in ti but I wuld really like to dye my hair blonde..like the christina milian color..last time i heard my hair was unhealthy..i have gotten it cut and conditioned it a lot..my hair is black which is gonna be hard to bring it up..but i have taken care of my hair and it seems healthier and has been growing..a few split ends but a trim can fix that..last time i bleached highlights into my hair. my hair cracked and broke off as i straigned my hair..its been 4 months since i last touched my hair..would it be to dye it again..i am the cautious type of scared to go bald..or atleast a light brown ? ...i do know that it is not good to dye hair light..but i have black hair and bleeding is not good for african woman hair..my hair has becoming thinner before but this time i actually waited 4 months because i was always continuously dying it..is it ok?

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

I would highly recommend going to a professional for any hair coloring. It might be a lot of money; but its worth it and you'll still have your hair afterwards ;) good luck

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

NO......unless you wanna be bald when you grow up. bleaching is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY damaging!!!! even after your hair grows out all black again. the bleach SINKS into your scalp to the roots. even with conditioner it wont help it much. give your hair a break!

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem gre

I would like to try them but afriad their product may strip my perm. Is it possible to deep condition your hair too much? How often are you suppose to deep condition it?

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

Anything you choose to use is OK, but it's a matter of what is best for your hair.

You can't strip a perm. Impossible. What will be stripped is the outer layers of your hair. The perm won't come off, though. Your hair will become more weakened, and prone to damage.

As for damage control, your perm is already taking a toll on your hair, so the worse thing Redken can do, most likely, is dry your hair out more.

For black hair, you can't deep condition too much, because that's what our hair needs. But I will say this, if you are washing your hair more than once a week, you need to fall back on that. The over drying is going to end up leaving you with more breakage than would normally be the case.

So wash once a week (with no clarifyiers), deep condition once a week/ or hot oil.

I use Humble...natural products for black/biracial hair.

Some pics on the site listed below.

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

Redken is fine to use. You can use any shampoo, it doesn't have to be specifically for ethnic hair. Try Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, and Redken Heavy Cream deep conditioner (once a week). And yes, it's possible to deep condition it too much if your hair is oily...more than 2 times a week is too much.

Salon quality products are always color/chemical safe.

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

no, my sister uses it and we're Asian. i tried it and it didn't do much for me. it is not going to strip your perm, nothing will do that except for hair straightener or if your hair grows out by itself.

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

not sure if that product works or not or what it will do. your suppost to deep condition your hair at least once a monrh or two months. you should really do it once a month. there is a deep conditioner thar is called cholesteral it works great.

Is Redkin shampoo okay for african american women? Please no silly reponses, their products seem great.?

Redken Shampoo should be fine on you hair. You might want to get one that is for chemically treated hair though. Shampoos will not strip your perm as long as you've waited 48 hours. There IS such a thing as conditioning too much, so it really depends on the condition of your hair and how much of a 'deep' conditioner you are using.

If you are using a store bought product, it's not likely they're super conditioning. You have to try to get an even amount of protein and moisture in your hair. Some 'deep conditioners' are meant to be used once a week, and some you can use twice a week. Unless your hair is in REALLY bad condition I would stick with once a week. And if it IS in REALLY bad condition you can condition it twice a week for a week or two and then after that I would stick with once a week.

If you get a salon treatment, they can be good for up to a month. We have what are called 'cera-repairs' at our salon and it's not generally recommended to use them more than once a month. Now being as you're African American you may not feel the need to shampoo your hair as often as Caucasian people do, but it depends on the texture of your hair. Some African American women have, as I'm sure you're aware, super kinky hair that only needs to be washed once a month. Some more. If you only shampoo your hair once a month you can probably get away with it every time you shampoo.

As long as you don't shampoo everyday or every other day, You can deep condition it every 3rd shampoo or every 2nd shampoo until your hair is in good condition and then once a month should do the job fine. Good luck and I hoped this helped!

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

My hair is now a bit longer than shoulder-length and is a dark-brown color. I don't mind dyeing my hair colors but they may not go with my complection. I complection is a bit of a cardboard brown.

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

I don't quite understand what you mean by 'gothic'. Goths usually have their hair carefully styled, or long and natural.

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

why wouldn't it look good? Your hair is already a dark color, so that would be natural. If you want to dye a crazy color, do blue or purple streaks or ends

And the above answers are just racist!

Im African-American and i want to have a long layered gothic hairstyle can anyone help me with this?

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

Whatever this is, it's supposed to help my damaged hair. What is it?

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

IT just that! If you read the ingredients there are a lot of fatty based elements. Its the same idea of putting Mayo in your hair, but you wont have the disgusting food smell. Its really good for you hair especially if you color or straighten it often.

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

A wonderful hair conditioning product.. try it, doesn't matter what hair type you have, unless you have VERY thin, flat hair. You'll love the soft, healthy results.. I knew a girl who had damaged her hair badly (she was always trying new things, she was in cosmetology school.. dye after dye, extreme heat) and she starting doing a treatment maybe once a week and her hair came back to life. For best results put a shower cap or warm towel on and apply low heat from a blow dryer. It's also very affordable.. can't go wrong.

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

use it only if you have African-American hair. otherwise, it get's your hair greasy looking. i tried the Pantene shampoo for african-american hair, and it was a complete disaster. my hair is really frizzy, but it didn't work.

the cholesterol keeps the hair conditioned.

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

it's just really, thick, hair conditioner. (i'm assuming you don't have "black" hair) not sure what is made from, but I think it resembles lard-kind of. it's SUPER power though-unless you've really, really fried your hair, just use other conditioner for damaged hair.

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

It is a conditioner that you use to moisturize and strengthen your hair. When I do a deep conditioning treatment I leave some of it on mixed with honey, put on a plastic clear shower cap and sit for about an hour or two and then rinse it out. You hair will be soft and moisturized. It's a very good product. I recommend you get a jar, or two. :)

What is, "Cholestrol in the african american aisles."?

It's a deep conditioner that leaves your hair soft but not "greasy".

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

by regular shampoo i mean the ones in the white bottles because they have some that i would really like to use and i sometimes get alittle tired of using the brown bottle for relaxed hair even though my hair is relaxed.

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

idk but pantene is really bad for ur hair no matter kind of hair u have ( =

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

You should get a shampoo that suits your hair if it's like oily, dry, ect.

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

I don't think it caters to us like their Relax and Natural line does but it's not gonna kill ya. I used to use it but didn't see much happening so it got the boot. If you're looking for good shampoo for us try Garnier Fructis. I love them I love them I love them... although I do mix it with Pantenes Relaxed and Natural products ;)

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

I would not recomend Pantene. Try Motions Shampoo it is great for african american hair. African American hair is alot dryer so I would recomend something that is desinged for dry hair. http://www.motionshair.com/

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

Pantene, is the best shampoo I've ever used, I do use the white bottles and I have oily and frizzy hair. Pantene makes it smoother and silkier.

Is Pantene's regular shampoo for african american women?

I have used Pantene in the white bottles before, but I began to notice that my hair was drying out on the ends. That's why they created the Relaxed and Natural line. It is taylored to better fit African American hair. Speaking as an African American woman, we have to be very careful when it comes to the shampoo %26amp; conditioner we use. Our hair is easy to get stripped by alcohol in the other shampoos. Stick to the Relaxed and Natural line of Pantene or move on to another line that is suitable for Black hair.

Cornrows, down to mid-back,everything gathered with a hairband ,at nape in a low ponytail ! wow, I 've never had anything like this done to my hair, how will I look ?? :-(((((

If you have a confident personality and work that hair...anything will look good. Just own up to the bet and rock that hairstyle. Who knows, you could start a trend. So good luck :)

I lost a bet w/ my African-American girlfriend,and now I have to get her choice of Hairstyle,OMG,cornrows !!?

honestly..that might look a bit crazy..but it might look cool

one suggestion: buzz your hair before getting it braided, and buy your gf something instead

I lost a bet w/ my African-American girlfriend,and now I have to get her choice of Hairstyle,OMG,cornrows !!?

I wonder if she knows that you refer to her as your African-American friend as oppose to simply your friend.

If you made the bet, pay up.... Simple as that..

I lost a bet w/ my African-American girlfriend,and now I have to get her choice of Hairstyle,OMG,cornrows !!?

As long as you don't have to get the gold teeth....

Only one way to know how it will look....try it.

Cornrows are a temporary style. If you don't like them, take them out!

I am a male african american.i don't know how to get curls?

Do you mean S-Curls or press %26amp; curls or perm with curls?

I really want cellophane streaks, I'm African American and I just got a perm a week ago,is it s

I have very dark hair and I really want to get like a copper color in my hair but I'm afraid that my hair will fall out, I dont know what to do, although I was told that cellophane is the most safest I'm not sure. Can anyone give me some feedback on this? Thank You.

I really want cellophane streaks, I'm African American and I just got a perm a week ago,is it safe?

Do you mean foils? I would honestly wait a little longer. In order for you to get the dark hair that much lighter, you would need to put some pretty strong stuff in your hair to lift it. I cut a lady's hair the other day that had her perm, and then had highlights....and her hair broke off so badly I had to cut about 8 inches of it off. Try some protein treatments to give your hair some more strength first. You can buy these at any salon. My favorite is Cat Reconstructor by Redken. It's about 15$ per bottle, and you would shampoo your hair, put that in, leave it for 5-10 minutes, rinse and then condition.

I really want cellophane streaks, I'm African American and I just got a perm a week ago,is it safe?

wait at least 1 month and when you do the cellos make sure next perm is only to the root and to the root till your streaks are out as it will break the hair where there is color and by break i mean to fall out of your head.....

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

I'm in my twenties and after years and years of damaging my hair I decided to go natural and I love it. Sometimes I do feel out of place but I whole heartly know this is who I am without any cover up. I am a beautiful queen but why do i feel like the world looks at me differently because of a hair change. I definately feel more inpowered. It's just very differnt for me. For instanced I have walked into a room full of women, having my natural look and they just stare and aren't open to interacting. I could really care less. I would just like to know why and what it is those certain type of people,(u know who u are) are thinking. I haven't changed. I don't always outwardly expect bad reactions that isn't the case here. I just get them oppose to when my hair was straightened i was more excepted.

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

It saddens me that you are experiencing this behavior. I am half black and have very frizzy curly hair. I do not straighten my hair.

I did for a while a while as a teen . I hated that I could never get my hair wet or just wash and wear it.It was also very damaging to my hair and scalp. I love the look of natural hair.... especially the twisted locks looks. Often times when I see a women with her hair in a natural style I find that I 'want" to talk to her more ... I found that when my hair was straightened people treated me like I was prettier ...men and women. So I have felt some of what your experiencing... not sure you can do anything about it though. I feel good about my hair and I do not disencourage my natural texture.

Could it be that you have great head of hair and these ladies are staring at that??? Maybe they are jealous.

My mom does not straighten her hair either ... hers is more kinky than mine. She has wonderful thickness and texture.

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

I am fine with Black women going with the natural look(s)

I think the people that have issue with it have some issues with hate on some level (either of self or of the fact that people are different).

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

you are sick. i've seen some of your answers rac115.

i think that you should remain natural. natural is beautiful

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

really? people really stare in negative ways because of your natural hair? are you sure? maybe theyre staring because of your beauty?

personally, i prefer people - all people- to stay natural. natural is TRULY the most beautiful anyone could ever be. im glad you finally took the leap to go natural once again.

its too bad that society sort of hails straightened blond hair to be the number one choice, but ***** society! BE YOURSELF! natural is the way to go!

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

I started wearing braids on and off for about 3 years, for the last 6 months it's been strictly braids. I think there's two things that happen at least from my prospective. Black women who do not have their hair braided or wear their hair natural seem to look down upon you. Like how dare you do this? White woman, love it. You don't know how many people I work with (all white women) have complimented me and just really seem to love the look. I can't say why people are like this. But I have noticed it.

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

if your pretty enough you can get away with just about anything,,

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

Some black women never succumbed to the pressure of "eurpeanizing" their hair. Naturals, short hair cuts, braids, locs, etc. styles absent of chemical alterations have always been around.

I am a black woman who begin the process of "returning to my roots" about 3 or 4 years ago. I cut my hair short to get rid of the relaxer and then begin twisting my hair to train it to loc. Now, the locs have formed and are forming (it is a process, you have to be patient), and are approximately medium length. I wear them up, down, with hair accessories or not, depending on the occasion.

And contrary to some beliefs, I wash and moisturize them regularly. People are fascinated by them and assume that I'm muslim or jamaican. While I did begin the journey for spiritual reasons,( an outward expression of an internal quest), the style is less cumbersome than when I was "frying," "dyeing" and "laying it to the side."

What is your view on locks and African American women going natural.?

stick with the chemical relaxers.

Easy, do-it -yourself, every day, teenage, medium, black hair styles!!!???

get an at home relaxer. You can find them at any Walmart. By using the relaxer, it will make your hair more manageable, possibly easier to straighten.

Easy, do-it -yourself, every day, teenage, medium, black hair styles!!!???

Haha I feel ya girl, more than you know.

No matter what age, afros are totally and super easy to do when it comes to kinky or coarse hair......just put to bands and put your hair up in a puff, or in one big puff....

Try parting it in the middle and pulling it back into a bun

You could also try to let your bangs hang out and make a high pigtail.....or just pullin it back with a headband

Hope this helped

Easy, do-it -yourself, every day, teenage, medium, black hair styles!!!???

just flat iron it (ask somebody to give u a wrap) and if u havent gotten a releaxer in while use a straigting comb or

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

like the whole good hair, bad hair.

light skin, dark skin thing.

i think the kinky afros look nice.

dark skin is gorgeous.

so why do people say african american hair is bad? its not.

why do people say dark skin is bad, ugly, its so nice, if it gets pimples you can barely see them?

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

Someone had asked a similar question a little while ago, and this is the answer i gave:

Having lighter skin, 'good hair', etc. is associated (almost across the globe and throughout history) with higher socio-economic status, greater education/intelligence, and thus beauty and desireability. Who doesn't want to be associated with all those things?

This is not my personal opinion, but an anthropological and historical approach to understanding the subconcsious rascism that has helped to create the stereotypes associated with African-American features.

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

Who says this??? Why are you looking for problems and things to complain about???

No, not okay - that's bull crap and you know it...stop crying about society not "promoting" the way anybody looks...All the media supports these days are the rich, famous, and beautiful - regardless of their colour...stop trying to create issues where none exist...

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

Are u saying this because u have the same hair as them..?

and no one ever said it was bad well at least i didnt..lol

and yes it kinda does look nasty wen its big and looks non washed

but if the girl is pretty and can pull it off with having nice afro curly hair shes cute

if not

then its nasty

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

this issue still exists today because white people made blacks feel this way since way back when it was slavery...just ignore them and t hey'll go away. just remember anything that is light has came from something dark.

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

I agree with you

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

I have natural hair and I get compliments all the time. Ive never been told I have bad hair. No ones ever told me dark skin is bad either. I live in a white/latino neighborhood and I never recieve negative comments about my looks.

Why is it that some people think having kinky hair and dark skin makes a person less than?

Virus phobia (virophobia) based on a false belief of symptom and contamination: science versus superstition.

How to flat iron hair so it has that "Just got out the Hairdresser" look?

I have kinky or couse african american hair and a flat iron also a hot comb and can't afford to go to hairdresser except for special occasions and i want to get that hairdresser look

I put Just For Me Texture Softener to soften it out

Plz be specific as to what kind of product

How to flat iron hair so it has that "Just got out the Hairdresser" look?

I have a conair iron one it's red it's about 30 dollar's use with chi conditioner my hair is crazy and that really flattens it out hope that helps

How to flat iron hair so it has that "Just got out the Hairdresser" look?

I'm mixed so I"m going to assume are hair is kinda similar.

When I straighten my hair usually blow it out with a little bit of coconut oil or grease or something then flat iron it to make it flatter. You can flat iron it then blow dry out it but I think it damages your hair more that way. I never heard of that stuff you said you put in your hair but you're gonna have to kinda trial and error it to see what helps and you know like whatever gel or stuff you want to put in it to keep it smooth. And I don't think that flat iron would be too good. I suggest you get one that is at least 1" wide, wider if you have like thick hair so you can get it done faster and get one from a beauty supply store like Sally's or something. Anyone from there should be good and if you aren't sure ask someone that works there.

here are a couple of pics so you can kinda see what my hair is like

curly http://a664.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima...

straight after being outside most of the day through drizzle and it only being fixed that morning http://a46.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/imag...

i just realized if you always want your hair straight just get a relaxer done about every month and take care of it and it will help, i never get mine relaxed since i prefer it curly

Tips to stop myself from touching my hair?

I have naturally curly African-American hair that is pretty short because I just went natural 6 months ago. However, now that it's so curly, whenever I'm bored I end up playing in my hair and I don't even realize I'm doing it! A lot of it ends up falling out or breaking off. I know its not good for my hair, but how do I stop?

Tips to stop myself from touching my hair?

Its actually good to touch your hair, it gives it natural oils that it could possibly be missing. The reasons its falling out is because there is so much of it. Trust me, its natural when your hair falls out... everyone's does, and the thicker and curlier the hair, the more falls out. So playing with your hair adds shine and energy to natural hair ^^ but if you really want to stop touching it, find a different habit... tapping nails, shaking leg, tapping feet. It'll take some effort, and you'll have to train your mind to tell yourself to stop everytime you start playing with your hair, but you can do it ^^

Tips to stop myself from touching my hair?

Sit on your hands!

Just make sure you stop yourself every time you realize you're doing it. It's not really bad for your hair if you're just playing around with it, unless you're pulling it, but you'll stop eventually.

Tips to stop myself from touching my hair?

I never heard of playing with your hair making it break off but it's just a habit that you've gotten so just make yourself stop whenever you find yourself doing it.

Tips to stop myself from touching my hair?

don't touch your hair when its wet though because that can cause breakage.also brushing your hair while its dry causes breakage and frizz.i have curly/wavy hair and after i shower and use some styling products after i towel dry it.don't rub when you towel dry your hair, just gently delicately scrunchy. i luv touching my hair when my big curls are defined, soft, and smell good but i know i can't touch it since i don't wanna ruin my curls.so find another habit besides touching your hair.

SMS: Your question is unique for a man to answer that is. The only solution that I can think of is to just leave it alone, OR!!!!!! let your boyfriend play with it for you. Can't think of any other plausible answer. Good luck dear heart. I had to come back to this question because I'm sure your hair looks fantastic. I've come back again,OHOOOOOOOOO, My doorbell just rang, the thought I had has slipped my mind, I'll be back in touch. Take care Ron J.
