I have four days for my hair to be done. I'm perming it today so can my hair be done? i have african american type hair.

I would wait least a month - depending on your hair type maybe 6 weeks. It also matters how healthy your hair is, how strong your perm is, and how light you want your highlights to be.

Be careful because once you put all those chemicals in- there is no going back!!!!!

You dont want your sh*t to fall o-u-t.

Deep condiditon your stuff very well for at least 3 weks after.

typically I believe it is 7 days you have to wait or you will fry it

when you perm your hair you break up the hair shaft and reset them with the new hair rollers shape, whether it is smaller or bigger waves. Therefore you should wait 1 month to dye or your hair will lose the shape or better yet dye first and wait a week and then perm it.

Color can not be on your hair as if your hair is still on perm. And the type of your hair would be very complicated if you do. You have to get your hair cut, or just a split ends cut each month and wait until the perm goes off. It takes a long while.

It's never good but only harmful to your hair if its colored (not your true color) plus a perm.

Just hold on to your lust for color for a longer while. Get the best hairdresser as you can, and let him/her cut your hair until your perm has gone off. After the perm has gone off, you may start with color.

My first suggestion is for you to check with your beautician first and go with what he or she says. I got my hair highlighted a couple of months ago and I waited about 2 to 3 weeks after I got my perm to do it.
