I'll be getting thumbs down but:

I just like to say, as a black man, more power to you. I wish more black girls would wear their hair naturally instead of mimicing non-black women and making excuses to why they straighten it. I just get turned on more when black chick wear their hair naturally, but in feminine ways.

The first thing to do is invest in a good shampoo and conditioner. Paul Mitchell, Joico, Redkin, and Aveeda are just a few. The are a bit pricey, but worth the money because it really does make a difference. It is important to get your hair trimmed regularly; this keeps it healthy and promotes growth. You can use any type of oil to keep hair moisturized but the creamy ones have water in them. You do not have to spend a lot of money on hair oil; they are all the same thing. Some products will advertise that they promote growth, but that is not true.

Also, if you are going to use hair oil, it is important to keep your hair clean. The oils attract dirt like a magnet. Good luck.

Hawiian Silky makes a leave in conditioner called, 14 in 1. It is absolutely wonderful.

Washing and stimulating the scalp is always good for growth but I wouldn't use shampoo everytime I wash. You could be stripping your hair of essential nutrients. Try Rinsing it with a conditioner at times but not to forget to shampoo when needed.
