Help me people who know lots about black hair!?

I'm 13.

And I've been getting relaxers done by my mom at home since I was five years old.

I decided to stop getting them relizing they may be the root of my hair problems.

also no chemicals!!!

I wash my hair with pantene pro-v for women of color once a week. I use tresseme heat protection spray then some hair moouse then i blow dry, and straighten my hair.

I've never gotten a hair cut/trim before but in a couple of weeks or so I'm going to start getting regular trims ever month and a half.

I want to have shoulder length hair right now its about at my ear lobe.

How long will it take to get it that long?

I also want soft and silky hair (as close as it can get with african american hair lol)

What else shoould i tell my hairdresser to give me ex: deep conditioner?, and how often?

Also what do you recommend I use? and what should i add to my rountine?

honestly i would say stop using pantene and you should be deep conditioning, especially if your transitioning from relaxed to natural, once a week. I don't know your hair texture, but i use organic root stimulator replenishing pak ($1.28 per pak at walmart and drugstores) mixed with some jojoba, olive oil, almond, and tea tree oil.

when you transition your hair it is prone to breakage at the demarcation point, thats where the relaxed hair and the natural hair meet. The only way to help slow down the breakage is to deep condition and stay away from heat. Air dry your hair as often as possible, this helps to lock in moisture.

Below is a website that tells you what to do if your trying to grow your hair long.

good luck.

it sounds like ur doing a good job already. although u might want to blow dry ur hair straight instead of with a straightener. that will mess up ur hair and put u back a few steps to where u r trying to get.

im sorry but i dont really know! :(

but for your question about 'how long will your hair take to grow to your shoulders', i think that depends on how long its taken the rest of your hair to grow. if your hairs taken 5 years to grow to your ear lobe it might take about 5 years to grow to your shoulders im afraid! but i might be wrong. it might grow really quickly!
