Hair Straightning, Really Curlly Hair?

My girlfriend has really curly hair. I've heard that their are product specifically designed or the African/American hair market as their hair is harder to manage than ours. Can anyone specify any products please. Thanks

Hair Straightning, Really Curlly Hair?

My hair is SUPER curly and coarse and I wear it stick straight every day (I have it cut short in the inverted bob).

I use Matrix Sleekline Shampoo and Conditioner. I then apply a straightening balm from roots to ends and blow dry with a paddle brush in sections. (always keep the nozzle pointing down the hair shaft!)

Once its blown-out (it will still be puffy and wild!) I spray Rusk Str8 protective flat-iron spray lightly on my whole head and flat-iron small sections. Once I flat iron my whole head, I lightly apply a shine serum on the ends to seal the cuticle and tame fly-aways. If it's humid outide (and it usually is here in FL) I use KMS fine mist hairspray last and brush it through.

P.S.- Tell her NOT to wash her hair every day. I know it might seem gross at first, but when you have super curly hair and you heat style it, it dries out. My hair looks the best on the 2nd day after I washed it! Just a tip!

Yes, the ghds which have extra large plates are spercifcally designed for really curly hair or African hair.

afro hair products do work on european hair better than the european hair straighteners but you need to find a good afro hairdresser

Anita Grants products are great for curly hair. Can recommend the whipped butters :)

Keune used to make a GREAT straigtning balm!!! I loved the stuff, actually I used to retail it at the salon. But I have not ordered any in a while. I am not sure why at this point as I am writing this. I just remember that it could be used on caucasian, african american and asian, etc. and it would straighten wonderfully. With just a blow dryer and a round brush, I know it would work wonders keeping it straight after it has been straightened with a straightning iron. Good lk!!
